As UK media reports a looming cost of living crisis, we’re working to support those on low incomes who will be hit disproportionately with increasing energy and food bills. Our non-means-tested food bank supplies emergency parcels to those struggling to make ends meet.
The beginning of the year sees the highest demand for this service as some are forced to choose between heating their homes and putting food on the table. This year we successfully pre-empted this increase in demand with our ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ initiative. The calendar encouraged local people to gather a new item each day throughout December, culminating in a box of essential items which could support a family or individual experiencing financial hardship or food poverty.
Thanks to the generous donations we received from local people, schools, businesses and Aldeburgh Rapid Relief Team in response to our plea we are now well-stocked to support people in the IP17 area.
To make use of this vital resource, or for any requests for support please call 0333 3355 266 or fill in a ‘Help request’ form online. There are also 24/7 outdoor collection points for emergency supplies at both Benhall and Kelsale schools. If you require more than is available there, please get in touch.
