CALLING ALL OUR NEIGHBOURS IN SAXMUNDHAM
It’s that time of year when we notice a surge in demand on our services as a result of food and fuel inflation, the pressures of Christmas, and the realisation that winter is definitely on the doorstep with a drop in temperatures. It’s now that our community needs as much support as we can provide.
We’re delivering our free Christmas dinners as we do every year, each one of which will cost us £14 this year, despite the generosity of local businesses donating lots of amazing food. We find ourselves subsidising our Tuesday social supermarket each week, as the quality and quantity of food and other products we receive from Fare Share has declined through no fault of theirs. And the panto, which is loved by local families and friends, is a very costly commitment, but because we know how much pleasure it brings to so many, we feel it would be prohibitive to charge more than £4.50 per ticket, particularly for families with young children.
We’re committed to our community and want to do the very best we can to lend a hand, wherever we can, not just at Christmas but throughout the year. We couldn’t do this without your generosity year on year. Thank you.
