Local hotel supports Good Neighbourhood Scheme with fresh frozen meals

IP17GNS, the Good Neighbour Scheme set up to serve residents in Saxmundham, Kelsale and Benhall, is offering hungry residents freshly made and nutritionally-balanced meals from The Bell Hotel in Saxmundham.

The meals, which are made by the Bell’s chef proprietor, Johnny Nicholson, have been designed to be nutritionally balanced and nutrient rich, combining protein carbs and fresh vegetables.

“We became aware that some people are struggling to get healthy things to eat,” explains Bryony Peal, IP17GNS’s Emergency Operations Coordinator. “Isolation and low income can make it hard for people to get enough fresh fruit and vegetables, for example,”

The meals, which are delivered to homes frozen by IP17GNS volunteers. They cost £15 for seven meals, providing a proper lunch or dinner for a week. Arrangements can be made for people who don’t have the means to pay.

“Some people choose to gift these meals to neighbours or friends,” explains Bryony Peall, “It’s a really nice way to lend someone a helping hand.”
