Christmas in Saxmundham

This year, celebrating Christmas as a community is going to prove more difficult….BUT, that doesn’t mean we’re not going to celebrate at all! One of the positives to take from this year is how we have come together as a community to look out for each other so, this Christmas, we’ll be doing things a bit differently, but still with a brilliant community spirit!

With help from the Town Council and District Council and a hoard of local volunteers, IP17GNS is delivering as much Christmas cheer as we can muster.  As well as bringing mini carol concerts to care homes & delivering Christmas cards from local school-children to older people in the community; we’re bringing three big Christmas initiatives to end 2020 on a much-needed high.

Santa’s Sleigh Ride

19th December – Benhall, Kelsale, Saxmundham

Santa will be making a tour of the area on Saturday 19th December. His sleigh will be travelling around spreading Christmas cheer to the people of Saxmundham & the surrounding villages. Make sure to come out & give him a wave wherever his route is closest to your home – you never know, Santa’s elves may have a treat for you! Follow his progress throughout the day on our Facebook page.

Carols at Carlton

Carlton Industrial Estate, 20th Dec at 7pm

Together with St John’s Church, Saxmundham & The Royal British Legion Band (Leiston), IP17GNS is hosting a drive-in carol concert at Carlton Industrial Estate on 20th December, starting at 7pm.  Numbers need to be monitored so we can make sure social distancing guidelines are stuck to so this is a ticketed event, which must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. It’s going to be a lovely feel-good event to raise everyone’s spirits & the good news is the tickets are completely free!

Call Penny on 07835 064 509 to secure your space….Then drive in, park up & sing along!
