April Update

We're still busy in the community

We’re still busy supporting the local community with everything from odd jobs, to food parcels and phone buddies.  The social Supermarket remains busy every Tuesday so thank you to all who donate food or funds to keep this vital lifeline going.

Our regular groups are Line Dancing on Monday evenings and Gather & Grow on Thursday mornings. We are also running Funky Friday clubs during school holidays – see our website or Facebook page for more information on how to attend.

Celebrate the Coronation together

On 6th May Saxmundham Town Council are hosting a live-showing of the coronation at the Market Hall to which everyone is welcome to attend.

However, for those who are housebound, IP17GNS volunteers will be delivering cream teas to enjoy whilst watching from home. This venture has been kindly sponsored by Suffolk Building Society and No.1 Bakery.

Please get in touch if you or anyone you know would like a delivery on Coronation Day – 07835 064 509

Community litter pick

At His Majesty’s request we are assisting Saxmundham Green Team with a community litter pick on Monday 8th May. Everyone is welcome, and any volunteers should join us from 10:3am at the Market Hall.  All equipment will be provided, though you should dress appropriately for the weather.

Volunteer appreciation day

The Big Help Out, occurring across the UK in connection with King Charles’ coronation, is a day dedicated to volunteering.  On the 8th May charities across the UK will encourage new volunteers to join their cause and IP17GNS is no different.  However, we will also be using the opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our existing volunteers too!

In the afternoon from 12 – 2pm we will be serving cream teas in Saxmundham Market Hall to thank our volunteers for their amazing efforts over the past 3 years.  We also invite anyone considering joining in as a new volunteer to come along and learn about opportunities to support their community and hear from our volunteers’ first-hand experience.

Please come along and join us for this celebration.
